How to reconstitute HCG injections:

Your HCG supply will come in a box with 2 bottles.
Bottle 1 containing sterile water or saline
Bottle 2 containing Human Chorionic Gonadotropin 5000 units.
To reconstitute open the box and remove both bottles.
Remove protective cap from both bottles and gently wipe with alcohol swap the rubber stopper on both bottles.
Using 3 cc syringe and 20 to 25 gauge needle insert the needle in the rubber stopper of the diluent bottle ( #1 ) and remove 3 cc of the diluent.
Withdraw needle and inject diluent into bottle #2
Repeat above procedure but this time only fill syringe with 1 cc of diluent so total water will be 4 cc. This will get you solution in which each 1 cc contains 1250 units of HCG

The amount of HCG and frequency of injections will be recommended by Dr. Berman.

Instructions for Blood testing:

Please make sure to drink plenty of water ( 33 ounces ) prior to blood collection. Dehydration will result in higher blood concentration and higher hormone levels.
Take your hormone medications as usual and do tests 5 to 6 hours after morning dose so hormones are not measured at their peak or trough.
Do not do blood ( or saliva ) collection the day you not taking hormones or 1 day after .
Allow at least 48 hours for saturation.
If you take testosterone shots do tests on the 4th day after testosterone shot
Thyroid hormone testing should not be done fasting. Fasting alters Thyroid hormone levels.

How to collect saliva samples for salivary hormone testing:

1st sample is larger because it is the one that is testing your Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEAS and Cortisol.
It should be taken about 8 am because cortisol in highest at that time.
You should not wash or rinse your mouth or brush your teeth before collecting 1st sample. After collection of first sample you can drink and brush teeth but please refrain from eating, drinking or washing your mouth for at least 30 minutes prior to collection. Please drink ample amount of water and do not eat very salty food the night before collecting sample so your mouth is not dry in the morning. You can chew sugarless gum to facilitate saliva flow.
- Better times for samples 2, 3 and 4 are 1 pm, 6 pm, 11 pm . Please try to collect at that times but if you go to sleep earlier please collect last sample right before you go go sleep.
Don’t forget to mark time of collection at the time of collection, this is important.

How to do a Clomid test:

Clomid test is done to determine if your Pituitary Gland will respond to stimulation and subsequently stimulate testicles to produce testosterone.
Clomid tricks your brain into thinking that there is not enough testosterone and causes the brain to send signal into Pituitary gland to stimulate productions of testosterone by testicles.
You need to take ½ of 50 mg tablet or 25 mg of clomid at bedtime for 7 consecutive days and check testosterone level in the morning of the eighth day.
Your testosterone level should rise. If it does not you need to go to the next step – HCG trial.
HCG directly stimulates testicles to produce testosterone and if testicles are working fine testosterone levels will rise in response to injection of 500-1000 units of HCG a week.
If testicles do not respond it means that testicles themselves are are problem and testosterone supplementation is justified.
