Leading U.S. engineering consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Scientist for their Milwaukee office! Responsibilities include wetland and water resource delineations/characterization (botanical surveys, habitat mapping, endangered species assessments), preparing wetland delineation and technical reports for clients/regulators, supporting environmental permitting and regulatory compliance at all levels, attending client/regulatory meetings and providing input. Responsibilities may include wildlife surveys, ecological restoration design, tree surveys, and coastal or bluff stabilization. Mentor/train junior staff and assist with strategic business development efforts including proposal development.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Ecology, Biological Sciences, Water Resources or Civil Engineering with an environmental focus. 5+ years of experience in wetland projects required in the Midwest region Wisconsin Assured Delineator (AD) strongly preferred. Alternative accreditations such as Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification or Certified Wetland Delineator (CWD) considered with the expectation to become an Assured Delineator. Experience with proposal writing, project interviews, client interactions and business development responsibilities. Stormwater and GIS experience and familiarity with GPS equipment is highly preferred. Qualifying experience includes working knowledge of Federal and State water and wetland regulations such as: Section 404 of the Clean Water Act; Wisconsin's wetland and waterway regulations; wetland delineation and functional assessment; knowledge of Wisconsin's flora; and wetland mitigation site selection, design and construction. Experience with green infrastructure, erosion control or best management practice inspections. Experience with Phase 1 ESA and/or Environmental Impact Analysis Reports.
